Recently, multiple Australian universities have released important updates for Semester 1, 2026 (S1). These include popular programs reaching full capacity, adjustments to offer acceptance deadlines, and late arrival policies.
1. University of Canberra: Physiotherapy & Medical Imaging Full

This follows a “Health Science first, internal transfer later” pathway.
2. ACU: Major Relaxation for Master of Social Work (Qualifying)

Effective immediately, the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) accepts applicants with undergraduate backgrounds in the following four broad fields:
Social / Political / Cultural Studies，Business / Management / Accounting / Tourism，History / Philosophy / Law，Education / Psychology / Public Health，
One-line summary: The academic background requirement for the Social Work master’s degree has been significantly lowered, making it a popular career-change, migration-oriented master’s option.
3. Monash University: Late Arrival Policy + Higher English Requirement for Nursing Packages

MUFY + Nursing Package – Higher English Requirement (from 2027 onwards)For Foundation Studies + Bachelor of Nursing, English requirements will be unified as follows:
- IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0)

Australian National University. For international students who have completed NCEA Level 3:

- Must accept and pay deposit by 28 January

6. Victoria University: Nursing Almost Full, Limited Pathways Remaining

- February intake: Full
- April intake: Very limited places (no credit exemptions available)
Alternative pathways:Bachelor of Health Science → internal transfer to Nursing,Nursing + Midwifery double degree (extremely limited availability)
7. UNSW: Multiple Faculties Closed for 2026 Applications (IT Still Open)

From 19 January onwards, the following faculties have stopped accepting new applications for 2026:

Science
IT programs remain open, with competitive selection. Applications for 2027 intake will open in February.
